Initially I planned on a single firewall, bend round under the fuselage. I ended up with a separate base and a small overlap from the main firewall. This base can be removed for access to the controls, fuel tank etc. without removing the whole firewall.

Material is 0.5mm aluminium. This is easy to cut with scissors and easy to bend. Behind the firewall is unifrax firewall material and the ply fuselage front.

The front fuselage is 1/8" ply. It has been slotted for the engine mount brackets but has yet to have holes drilled for fuel line, electrical cable and throttle cable.

Brackets will also be attached for Camloc fasteners to hold the cowling in place..

The side pieces were laminated. These will allow attachment of aluminium side cheeks.
